Hi ALl I'm having trouble importing files from Quark 4.1 and Illustrator 9. My girlfriend is using both and both of us wish to import these files into Calamus.
Although we've tried every option only with Illustrator, saving as compatible with Illustrator 3 have we had any luck. From Quark saving as an EPS will not import into SL. Do you have any suggestions on the proper settings we should be using with these programs to import into SL?

I've had more luck saving files in Calamus and exporting from Bridge 4.

I should also add that these files in Quark are not particulerly complex.

Please try the following:

<ul><li>'Print' the documents with a PostScript printer driver into a file.<li>Use PS Level 1 and ASCII (instead of binary).<li>Try and chose Embed all fonts or stuff.
</ul>

Then try and open this file (whatever extension it has: *.PS, *.EPS, *.PRN, *.BOcool smiley with Calipso within Calamus. If your print trials were set up right, the import should work fine.

If possible, you may try and export your documents in PS or EPS format, but not in Illustrator AI format, because this is not PostScript!</B

Good luck.

Hi Ulf

As soon as I can pry my girlfriend away from the Mac I'll try it. Of course I've had big problems getting Postscript to work on this printer, but that of course is my problem and has nothing to do with SLDave

Hello Ulf

I followed your instructions and finally got it to work - Works like a charm! My one last problem turned out that I was assigning all my memory to the interpreter. I kept getting the message "not enough memory" and finally realised that I was loading bigfiles and there was no memory left for Calamus. This corrected everything loaded in, including the screens I had assigned the photo's in Quark.

Much thanks!
