Calamus SL 2006 R8 crashes randomly
Since I've a new pc Calamus SL2006 R8 hangs randomly (didn't happen on the old Aldi pc). With hangs I mean that I can't do anything inside Calamus, the pc isn't dead. The only thing I can do is click on the close window icon on the Calamus window. Sometimes I can work for hours without one single hang. It's really randomly. I can't reproduce the hang. Today Calamus stopped working whilst I was changing a color inside the color management. Selecting a text inside the text window did also cause a hang.

My system is:
HP paviilion p6-2030be
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30 GHz
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit Service Pack 1
8 GB RAM
Calamus max. memory: 980 MB

I am sorry that you are experiencing these "freezes" of Calamus. Two notes which might help:

* Don't give Calamus more than 1 GB RAM, although your PC offers much more. Calamus is still a 32-bit TOS application.

* Your PC has a modern processor with more than one kernel. So please try to assign Calamus to only one of these kernels. This might stop the freezes.

Ok thanks,
I've assigned Calamus to use only one core. Time will tell if this will help.
For those who don't know how to assign permantly certain cores to a program take a look at this page:
