Hi,

I can't find it either! Are there any other places where you can use inches in Calamus?

I found it, it's in the "set unit measures".
The page has to be set to Inches then text ruler has to be to "page measure"

It's not neccessarily the Page measurement unit. You can decide which measurement unit should be used for the text rulers. But basically you have done good when you found out that the measurement stuff is placed in the Pages module.

[man.calamus.net]

(In a Mac application, this would probably be placed in 'Preferences'.)

Ulf and Paul,
Heres a problem I'm having understanding Calmus.

1) I place tabs in a text frame using "insert tab stop" in the text module.
as an illustration.

suppose I put three tabs at 1" and 2" and 3 "

now when I begin to type.
if I first hit tab and type hello
then "hello" will move to the 1" position (the first tab"

BUT

if I hit tab after typing hello, the cursor does not move to the 2" mark????

I would think it should but it in fact does not.

now if start a new line it will work fine. In other words
if after the word hello I hit return and hit tab 2 times the cursor will move to the 2" mark.

What gives?

ok,
i did some testing.

It seems a SPACE is necessary after a word in order for tabs to work correctly. I DONT LIKE THAT but it works.
is Inverse aware of this problem?

This is no problem, but a feature.

It allows to create sticky tabs. Figure it out like described here in detail.

The method is rather simple and logical:

[tab]foo
brings foo to the tab, left-justified.

foo[tab]
brings foo to the tab, right-justified.

[tab]foo[tab]
brings foo to the tab, centered.

If you want to get this behavior for multiple words, you have to stick them together with fixed spaces (using [Shift][Space]).
