In one of our other sites, DSD.net, we installed PayPal payment buttons today for those customers from abroad, who do not have a credit card or prefer PayPal payment.

Does anybody out there believe PayPal could be of any interest for Calamus users, too?

Yes, it would be useful.

I still wonder if PayPal would really be useful as I did not find a way for purchasing a collection of modules at the same time, using the PayPal CheckOut buttons.

Maybe I have to try the PayPal shopping cart system.

Yes, Ulf, I think it would be a very good addition. If you recall, I suggested this to you, years ago. I'm frankly puzzled that you never have had any secure page ordering for Calamus products, and suspect you would have received more orders if you had.
I've used it a lot, and have had zero problems. It undoubtedly must be easier to implement than having to deal directly with Mastercard, Visa, and the likes, and PayPal offers the purshaser a great deal of options as to how we want to use it.
I say yes!

Hi Steven.

You're right, you suggested PayPal some years ago. This must have been before we switched to PHP for our website.

Sorry - we support https:// for a long time now. After we switched to frameless page layout some weeks ago, you should run into these https:// pages as soon as you call a page with an order form. (Just purchase a module and you will see ... ;-))

As a seller, you usually deal with one company which provides all types of card clearences. We have no direct contact to MasterCard etc. The 'disagio' (I don't know the English word for this CC fee) is somewhat lower than on PayPal.

Having made the first experiences with PayPal, I found it very easy for the seller, too, although their pages are horribly slow.

I will try and implement a PayPal shopping cart system in the next time.
